Where Cats Get Another Beginning

Smyrna Nine Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to giving cats a second chance. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome stray and abandoned cats, while also supporting humane trap, neuter, and return efforts for feral cats in need.

Beyond rescue, we are committed to reducing cat overpopulation through education, advocacy, and strong community partnerships. Whether through adoption, fostering, or outreach, our mission is rooted in compassion, responsibility, and creating lasting change for cats and the people who care for them.

What We Do

Rescue & Rehoming

As a volunteer-run organization with limited resources, we focus on helping as many cats as we responsibly can. We help stray and abandoned cats and, whenever possible, work to place them in safe, loving homes. Each placement is approached with care, ensuring the right match for both the cat and the adopter.

Medical Care

Every cat that comes through our care receives necessary medical attention, including vaccinations and spay or neuter, ensuring they are safe, healthy, and ready for their next chapter.

Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR)

We support humane trap, neuter, and return (TNR) efforts for community cats. This involves safely trapping feral or free-roaming cats, having them spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returning them to their original territory.

TNR helps stabilize community cat populations, reduces unwanted litters over time, and improves the overall health and quality of life for the cats while allowing them to remain in the environment they are accustomed to.

Advocacy & Education

By helping people better understand the needs of cats and the resources available, we aim to prevent unnecessary suffering and reduce the number of cats entering the rescue system.
